When Jane Utterson discovers that her best friend is conducting a particularly dangerous experiment, she is faced with a difficult choice: should she support Jekyll’s quest to cure humanity of the darkness inside of them? Or should she reveal to the authorities why corrupt men are being murdered all across the Upper West Side?
JEKYLL is a fresh and ferocious feminist take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s sinister novella: a riveting exploration of the elusive 'caged devil' that lurks deep within the souls of women today...
Originally featured in our April 2019 An Evening of Monsters, JEKYLL was performed as a script-in-hand, fully-staged workshop presentation, followed by an half-hour-long dialogue with the audience in order to gain additional feedback before moving towards a full production.
